About this course

What actually keeps a body and mind well? This course answers with what the world's big health bodies - the World Health Organization, national health services, and reviews of many studies - agree on, and says plainly where scientists are still unsure. You will learn why we sleep and how your body clock works, what food is made of and how much sugar, salt and water make sense, how much to move, how germs spread and how your body and vaccines fight them, how to look after your teeth, skin, ears and eyes, what stress and mental health are, and why friends matter. The last module gives you the tools to judge any health claim yourself: fair tests, the placebo effect, links that aren't causes, and why natural doesn't always mean safe. Every lesson lists its sources. No background needed. This course is general information, not medical advice: for your own health, talk to a doctor, nurse or pharmacist.
