Learning path
In the order the concepts build on each other.
- Determinants of healthReadyEverything that makes a person more or less likely to be healthy. The World Health Organization sorts them into three groups: the social and economic environment, the physical environment, and the person's own characteristics and behaviours. Many are outside a person's control.
- HealthReadyIn the World Health Organization's words, "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity": your body, your mind and your life with other people all going well.
- Noncommunicable diseasesReadyLong-lasting illnesses that don't spread from person to person: mainly heart and blood-vessel diseases (like heart attacks and strokes), cancers, long-lasting lung diseases and diabetes. They cause most deaths in the world, and many of their risk factors can be lowered.
